The Geospatial Unit of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) are organizing a virtual technical workshop from 14 to 16 March 2023 on the use of SEPAL in support to sustainable food and agriculture. The workshop aims at enhancing capacities of the experts from the twenty-two member states of the AOAD on the use of state-of-the-art geospatial technology for land, water and crop monitoring. The workshop will particularly focus on applications of remote sensing and GIS for land cover mapping and assessment of land degradation, and will include theoretical and practical presentations, question and answer sessions, as well as hands-on practices.
