ABSTRACT

The seventeenth session of the Compliance Committee (CoC) of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was held in person on 17 May 2024 at FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy. The session was attended by 61 participants who reviewed the implementation of all inter-sessional activities carried out in the framework of the Committee and agreed on its programme of work for the 2024–2025 intersessional period. The session addressed several substantial compliance-related topics and provided advice on compliance accordingly, in view of the next annual session of the Commission, specifically on the topic of the ongoing reinforcement of the Committee.
