EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The data preparation meeting for the benchmark sessions for Black Sea anchovy and sprat in geographical subarea (GSA) 29 was held online on 3–5 June 2024. The meeting took place over the Zoom platform and was attended by 11 participants from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkiye and Ukraine,including members of the Secretariat of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) and the BlackSeaforFish (BS4F) Project. Issues related to fishery-dependent and fishery-independent data for sprat (Sprattus sprattus) and anchovy (Engraulis encrasicolus) in GSA 29 were reviewed and discussed in detail in view of the the needs of the benchmark sessions, to be held on 1–5 July 2024.
