The Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI) Plenary 2020 was cancelled by the GFOI Leads Group due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The GFOI Plenary 2021 rather took place virtually the following year.

In the meantime, a series of webinars and other virtual opportunities were held to continue to foster the international community of forest monitoring practitioners and progress the work of the GFOI.
