Zimbabwe scraps import controls on maize and wheat flour

25/11/2019,

In late November, an announcement made by the Government of Zimbabwe indicated the temporary removal of import controls on maize and wheat flour, amidst a tight supply situation of key food staples that follows a drought-reduced harvest in 2019. The move by the Government is intended to allow anyone to import maize grain, maize meal and wheat flour, which would also be exempt from tariffs.
