15/02/2015,

Brazilian gasoline supply will be blended with 27 percent of Ethanol as of 15 February. The previous blend percentage, which had been in place for several years, was 25 percent.. The increased blend will help the sugarcane sector which has been enduring economic hardship in recent years due to adverse weather and low prices for both sugar and ethanol. The government of Brazil has also increased the price of gasoline which should help to improve ethanol prices.

Recent tests conducted by independent organizations indicate that more than 90 percent of the new cars in Brazil have flex-duel engines that enable them to use gasoline or 100 percent ethanol, as well as any combination of the two fuels.
