Zambia plans to export 800 000 tonnes of white maize

The Government of Zambia plans to export 800 000 tonnes of maize, with the country estimated to hold a surplus of around 1 million tonnes following the record 2014 harvest. Zambian maize is expected to be exported at a price of 80 Kwacha per 50 kg bag, compared to the domestic price of 65 Kwacha per 50kg bag.
