China to upgrade granaries to accommodate high grain stocks

09/07/2015,

The Government plans on upgrading its granaries and building new storage facilities to store 50 million tonnes of grains by the end of 2015, according to a recently published 2015-2020 National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Finance Ministry plan. This measure will prevent the significant waste of grains realized every year as a result of the severe lack of grain silos and drying facilities in the current state of the existing granaries.
