Morocco raises wheat customs duty

10/06/2016,

The Government of Morocco announced that it will increase the import duty on common wheat to 65 percent from the current level of 30 percent during the harvest period from June 15 to August 15 in order to maintain prices stable and protect local producers during marketing of the domestic crop. The Government previously announced to maintain a reduced 30 percent import duty (FPMA Food Policies) throughout 2016, due to an anticipated drought-reduced 2016 wheat output.
