Mexico allows tariff-free imports of rice and beef

13/06/2016,

The Government issued a decree on June 8 that will allow the country to establish tariff-free import quotas from non US-origins for beef and for paddy, husked, milled and broken rice in response to a potential deterioration of supplies and high prices. Currently, import tariffs are set at 9 percent for paddy, 20 percent for milled, husked and broken rice and at 15 to 25 percent for beef.
