The Government has recently suspended duty-free wheat imports from the Russian Federation, by not including it in the list of countries that can deliver commodities free of duties effective from 15 March 2017. Overall, Turkey is both an importer and exporter, importing mostly wheat grain and exporting wheat products such as pasta and flour. In the past five years, the Russian Federation supplied around two thirds of its total annual wheat imports.
