稻米价格进一步上涨至创纪录高点

5月份稻米价格进一步上涨至创纪录高点，原因是2016年产量和进口量双双下降造成供应趋紧，且洪涝对2017年主季（boro季）作物造成了破坏。斋月前需求增加则提供了进一步支撑。为应对当前价格居高不下的局面，政府宣布将进口多达60万吨稻米，但决定不下调对稻米的进口关税税率，以便保护本国农民。
