RECSOIL implementation

The RECSOIL initiative is designed to support countries in adopting sustainable soil management (SSM) as a mechanism to enhance soil health and mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while recognizing farmers for the provision of ecosystem services. The initiative operates in 4 to 5 year project cycles, with each cycle comprised of seven phases that provide learnings and a roadmap for further scaling of SSM with the completion of each phase. While RECSOIL provides harmonized methods for the measuring and monitoring the impact of SSM on SOC and other soil indicators, each country adopts a tailored approach suited to the project ecosystem and local context.
