Guest speaker: Patricia Moulin, Christian Hartmann
Biography: Patricia Moulin is a research engineer at IRD (France) in analytical chemistry, specialized in soil chemistry. She is currently in charge of an analytical chemistry laboratory (ISO 9001 Certified) serving research in Senegal. Her career as a chemist at IRD led her to work in Africa and New Caledonia.
Christian Hartmann is a soil scientist at IRD (France), mainly focusing on the quality of analytical data and their worldwide comparability. His motivation is to (i) improve the reproducibility of scientific experiments and (ii) make the decisions based on these data more accurate. He was involved in the establishment of SEALNET and GLOSOLAN for which he served as an advisor and trainer mainly for quality control and some other subjects. He is also in charge organizing inter-laboratory comparisons and their statistical interpretation.
Abstract: This webinar presents some basic guidelines on how to perform internal quality control procedures in the laboratory, in order to prevent and/or limit the occurrence of errors in the measurement. The lecturers will provide a guidance on the practices to adopt in the laboratory, including the preparation of reference samples. Participants will have the chance to raise questions and directly interact with the speakers in a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
Ce webinaire présente quelques directives sur la manière d'effectuer des procédures de contrôle de qualité interne dans le laboratoire, afin de prévenir et/ou limiter le risque d'erreurs de mesure. Les intervenants donneront des conseils sur les pratiques à adopter en laboratoire, y compris sur la préparation d'échantillons de référence. Les participants auront la possibilité de poser des questions et d'interagir directement avec les intervenants lors d'une session de questions-réponses à la fin de la présentation.
