Supporting evidence based policy decision making through the production of reliable agricultural data
The Agricultural Integrated Survey (AGRISurvey) programme supports countries in their efforts to improve and strengthen their own national agricultural survey systems and to enable access to agricultural statistics.
AGRISurvey provides an innovative survey toolkit to assist countries to develop an integrated and cost-efficient approach to generate a regular flow of relevant and up to date agricultural statistics in response to national needs and priorities.
The availability and use of these data allows the identification of challenges in production, productivity and resilience, and provide a strong base for designing, monitoring and evaluating any agricultural and rural policy or investment. This helps decision makers shaping better policies and programmes that effectively tackle poverty and hunger, and assists in monitoring progress towards the SDGs and other goals.
AGRISurvey is implemented with the support of different projects, in particular the newly established 50x2030 Initiative to close the agricultural data gap. This Initiative brings together committed partners in an unprecedented effort to bridge the agricultural data gap by implementing agricultural and integrated household-agricultural survey programs in 50 low and middle income countries by 2030.
