In the framework of the ACP-MEAs 3 programme, FAO in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is organizing a series of regional information webinars to unpack the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework with a focus on the targets related to agricultural biodiversity. The webinars will contribute to efforts to supporting African, Caribbean and Pacific countries in meeting their obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and to strengthening biodiversity mainstreaming across agricultural sectors.
The sustainable use and conservation of agricultural biodiversity requires a cross-sectoral approach, which can be challenging when developing strategies, action plans and targets that are fit for purpose. Agricultural and environmental communities at the global, regional and national levels need to have the capacity to deal with sectorial barriers that limit their participation in and the implementation and reporting of agricultural biodiversity activities. An important component of building such capacity is ensuring a shared understanding of the recently adopted Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity framework.

This webinars series bring together biodiversity focal points from agriculture and environment sectors from ACP countries to translate the newly adopted global biodiversity targets into concrete and integrated national strategies and action plans for the conservation of biodiversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of their utilization.
At the end of each seminar participants will have:

• Better understanding of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework targets that are of most relevance to agricultural biodiversity.
• Increased capacity to participate in the NBSAP review process and implementation.
