“All About VHF Radio” - a half-day workshop by Caribbean ICT Research Programme of The University of the West Indies to increase safety at sea for fisherfolk

As an activity under the FAO’s Climate Change Adaptation in the Eastern Caribbean Fisheries Sector (CC4FISH) Project, the Caribbean ICT Research Programme of The University of the West Indies delivered a half-day workshop, entitled “All About VHF Radio”, Thursday 15th August, 2019. Participants at the workshop were presented with key background information necessary to appreciate the importance, capabilities and limitations of, as well as the requirements for, marine band VHF radio, which have been deemed imperative for sustainable emergency communications support for small-scale fishers in Trinidad and Tobago.
