Climate Change Adaptation in the Eastern Caribbean Fisheries Sector

Two hundred and seventeen fishermen from the main island of Grenada will graduate from the CC4FISH Captains Training Program on Thursday, November 26, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Grenada Trade Center in St. George.

The curtains came down on the #CC4FISH Fishing Vessel Captains Training Course on November 26, 2020, at the Grenada Trade Centre.
In this photo album, two hundred and seventeen (217) fishermen from the main island of Grenada graduated from the course receiving their captain's permit, a certificate of participation, and a VHF radio with GPS.
The course, which began in July 2020, saw a total over three hundred and one (301) fisher folk - including 9 women - successfully completing the course.
The number of participants from each island are as follows:
Grenada - 217 fisher folk
Carriacou - 50 fisher folk
Petite Martinique - 34 fisher folk
The Fishing Vessel Captains Course is organized by the Windward Island Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF) at the St. George's University in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, Culture & the Arts, Fisheries & Cooperatives.
The course if funded by the Global Environment Facility (The GEF) through the FAO's Climate Change Adaption in the Eastern Caribbean Fisheries Sector Project (CC4FISH).
