The contract poultry farming has been criticised by many researchers as being exploitative, in spite of its advantages to the poor farmers. This paper aims to bring out the perceptions of poultry farmers on the contract broiler farming they were engaged in. The required data were collected by personally interviewing 49 contract broiler farmers under four Integrators in and around Puducherry using a well designed schedule. The perceptions of CB farmers revealed that most of them were dissatisfied with the cost of chicks and feed, the weight of the chicks, the quality of the feed supplied and the payment. The results of this study lend credence to the fact that contract broiler farming is exploitative to the broiler farmers.
