Objective / Goal |
The objective of the project was to increase the resilience of livelihoods to threats and crises, by mitigating the adverse impacts caused by La Nina induced precipitation shock, drier and/or drought conditions in the northern rainfed cultivation areas of Afghanistan. |

This project builds upon ongoing efforts in scaling-up anticipatory action in Afghanistan. The outcome of the project is a time-sensitive and season-critical protection of winter wheat cultivation, agriculture livelihoods and food nutrition security of vulnerable marginal mixed farming households, livestock keepers, women-headed, and landless labourer households while preventing / minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 and institutional capacities of Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock strengthened on early warning and early action, and anticipatory action in agriculture sector. |
