Objective / Goal The objective of the project was to increase the resilience of livelihoods to threats and crises, by mitigating the adverse impacts caused by La Nina induced precipitation shock, drier and/or drought conditions in the northern rainfed cultivation areas of Afghanistan.

Activities

This project builds upon ongoing efforts in scaling-up anticipatory action in Afghanistan.

The outcome of the project is a time-sensitive and season-critical protection of winter wheat cultivation, agriculture livelihoods and food nutrition security of vulnerable marginal mixed farming households, livestock keepers, women-headed, and landless labourer households while preventing / minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 and institutional capacities of Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock strengthened on early warning and early action, and anticipatory action in agriculture sector.
