Activities

The overall objective is to protect key livestock assets in the drought affected areas by addressing the emergency needs of the most vulnerable pastoralists. The main results were:

  • result 1: livestock take-off increased in drought stricken areas (to maximize the survival of core-breeding stock);
  • result 2: breeding livestock maintained alive and healthy during times of drought by the provision of supplementary feed;
  • result 3: livestock mortality and morbidity reduced through promotion of animal health services.
