After a journey across the Indian Ocean that departed from Jakarta, Indonesia on 26 June, the Nansen finally reached its final port for this Indian Ocean survey voyage on Thursday, 6 August. The crew was excited to dock in Durban, South Africa, following the second leg of the Indian Ocean survey, which began in Port Louis, Mauritius.
A pilot was lowered onto the R/V Dr. Fridtjof Nansen to guide the ship into port.
