26 October 2020; Baku- Monthly webinar series titled the State of Fishery and Aquaculture Industry Briefing started with Azerbaijan on October 19 with the participation of various stakeholders including representatives from FAO, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey (MAF), and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and the private sector.

22 October 2020, Ankara – Under the joint SAVE YOUR FOOD campaign, FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey launched a new social media movement called “I Pledge” with a press conference at Çırağan Kempinski Palace yesterday.  

30/09/2020 Rome/Ankara/New York- At the global event marking the first International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste yesterday, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and their partners urged everyone to do more to reduce food loss and waste or risk an even greater drop in food security and natural resources.

29 September 2020; Ankara- Fishery and aquaculture products are among the most traded food commodities worldwide. The growth in international fish trade has highlighted the need to harmonize fish safety and quality assurance approaches, with a view to ensuring fish safety and fair trade practices.  

21 August 2020; Ankara- Abandonment or un-utilization of agricultural lands is a common problem for many countries in Europe and Central Asia. Only in Turkey, about 2 million hectares of fertile agricultural lands are currently being abandoned and unutilized.
