The proceedings of the Sixth Mediterranean Forest Week are now available in English and French. The Sixth Mediterranean Forest Week took place in Broummana, Lebanon from 1 to 5 April 2019. The focus was on “The role of Mediterranean Forests in the Paris Agreement: challenges and opportunities.” Political decision-makers, research scientists, foresters and students gathered for the event to highlight the importance of Mediterranean forests in their multifarious contribution to human wellbeing.
As a result of this week’s efforts, four major points emerged from the discussions:

• Reinforcing the backup given to the scientific community in order to facilitate the exchange of information.
• Grants for young people to enable them to take part in programmes for diversifying the forest sector and in job creation.
• Enhanced effort to finance the Green Fund for Climate. Strengthening communications networks and facilitating their links to the scientific community.
