  • A revised quota advice for northeast Atlantic mackerel and herring has been announced with an 8 percent cut proposed for mackerel and a 24 percent increase for herring.
  • The general economic outlook for is rather bleak, which to some extent will favour lower priced products such as small pelagics.
  • Similar to other fish species, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a greater demand for frozen mackerel and herring
  • Currency exchange rates have fluctuated recently and have made some products, such as from the UK and Norway, cheaper on the world market. Purchasing power in some importing countries is expected to increase.
