IES jointly organized a side event during FAO's Committee on Agriculture (COAG) with the Netherlands Water Partship (NWP), together with the Global Soil Partnership: Incentives for sustainable agriculture and the role of smart soil and water information.

The event shared examples of information technologies and the integrated, cross-sectoral approaches that link agriculture and environmental sectors to promote sustainable soil and water management. Partners illustrated how better access to information about agro-ecosystem services can support the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management and the design of coordinated packages of inventives to enable farmers' transition to sustainable agricultural production.
