Third High Level Training on Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems

The IES team contributed to the Third High Level Training and Experience Sharing on Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) held in China 23 October - 5 November 2016. The GIAHS Initiative is an innovative approach to the adaptive managementof agricultural heritage and conservation of goods and services. The GIAHS approach focuses on holistic, innovative development, while seeking to safeguard the social, cultural, economic and environmental values of ecosystem services.

The IES approach was presented as a framework to support the implementation of the GIAHS Initiative and provide an enabling environment to improve cross-sectoral coordination for the engagement of a variety of stakeholders.
