Ingredients
margarine: 6 27
water: 1 1/2 29
sugar: 1 29
baking powder: 1 27
flour, wheat: 4 29

Steps
1. In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, 1 tbsp sugar, and salt.
2. Using 2 knives, or a pastry blender, cut the margarine into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles corn-meal.
3. Stir in water, a little a time, until the dough is stiff and easy to work with.
4. Place the dough on a floured board and press into 1/2-inch thickeness. Cut into 4-inch diameter circles. Make 2 or 3 1/2-inch cuts in different places of each circle.
5. Fry on both sides in about 1/2-inch medium-high hot oil until golden brown, for about 2 mn.
6. Drain on paper towels, sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar (optional) on top of each cake and serve immediately.
