Setting the ground for Strategy Launch: Cabo Verde Value Chain Task Force convenes to boost black mackerel and tuna
With the countdown to the launch of the 10-year strategy plan for enhancing black mackerel and tuna value chains in Cabo Verde, the Value Chain Task Force gathered for its regular assessment meeting. The Task Force consists of the Direção Nacional de Pesca e Aquacultura (DNPA), Instituto do Mar (IMAR), Inspeção Geral das Pescas (IGP), Associação dos Armadores de Pesca de Cabo Verde (APESC), and 3 private companies namely Frescomar, Atunlo and Sucla with the objective to ensure commitment and active involvement in the long-term implementation of upgrading strategy to enhance value chain.
Taking place on June 8, 2023, in Mindelo, this was the fourth consecutive meeting since Cabo Verde joined the SVC4SIDS project in 2021. The agenda revolved around discussions and validation of value chain assessment results, along with revisions of the multi-stakeholder strategy. The outcomes of this meeting will refine the implementation strategy, set to be unveiled tomorrow in Mindelo.
