SAB Peru Hybrid Validation Workshop
Following the Project planning workshop held in December 2023, the Smart Aquaculture Biosecurity (SAB) project is now organizing a Peru Hybrid Validation Workshop, to be held in virtual mode in Tumbes, Perú, from 3 to 4 June 2024.
The workshop will bring together around 70 participants from the Government, the shrimp industry, Academia, research institutes and training centres.
The Korea-funded project Smart Aquaculture Biosecurity (SAB) project is working to assist Peru in taking preventive actions against any disastrous situations in the shrimp value chain sector, which includes production, processing, and trading activities.
The meeting is intended to review, discuss, and validate the results of the feasibility study on the challenges and opportunities of implementation of smart and sustainable shrimp aquaculture system in Peru, and to discuss an in-depth contextualized action plan for the integration of smart/digital technologies in the current shrimp aquaculture system to reduce biosecurity/food safety risks and enhance sustainable production practices.
