Mesoamerica Hunger Free AMEXCID-FAO

Mexico

Since 2023, "Mesoamerica Hunger Free AMEXCID-FAO" has extended its intervention to Mexico, initially prioritizing the south-southeast region of the country, where Chiapas, Oaxaca and Quintana Roo are located. These Mexican states share many of the same characteristics as the rest of the Mesoamerican countries, which allows for a broad and fruitful exchange of experiences and knowledge.

Among the first actions being developed by the Programme are the support to the creation of Parliamentary Fronts against Hunger at state level, as well as technical assistance for the formulation and implementation of regulatory and policy instruments related to food security and nutrition and rural development, based on the extensive experience already existing in these territories and in close collaboration with specialized Mexican institutions.
