Irrigation performance assessment tool prototype presentation

Three important meetings were held to present and discuss the initial prototype of the Irrigation Performance Assessment Tool for the North Jordan Valley, developed by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). The first meeting, which took place on September 26, involved 5 participants from the Jordan Valley Authority. Following that, on November 1, a second meeting was conducted with 3 participants from the Ministry of Agriculture to showcase the tool and gather valuable feedback for further improvements. The third meeting occurred on December 5 at the Jordan Valley Authority and included 10 participants from both the Jordan Valley Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture. This meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between the two entities regarding water productivity and plan on-the-job training.

The outcomes of these meetings were significant:

• Identification of irrigation performance assessment indicators for both entities.
• Recognition of the necessary on-ground data to enhance the tool further.
• Drafting of an on-the-job training plan to build the capacities of stakeholders for effective tool utilization.
