Between the 31st of October and the 1st of November, a training on field data collection for crop monitoring was held in Iraq. Its aim was to train the participants to the use of ODK (Open Data Kit) as a tool for data collection for crop mapping and crop monitoring. Training participants were in the number of 37 and hailed from the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Planning.

The participants learned how to use ODK applications and its related field form to start doing data collection in West Gharraf. In fact, West Gharraf is one of the pilot areas for the WaPOR project in Iraq, where 30m data is under development, with some WaPOR layers at that resolution being already available.
