WaPOR at the FAO Science and Innovation Forum: REGISTER to participate!
On the 13th of October 2022, between 15:00 and 16:30 (GMT+2), WaPOR will be at the center of a side-event of the FAO Science and Innovation Forum (SIF 2022). This first SIF will be a space for highlighting the centrality of science, technology and innovation for agrifood systems transformation.
WaPOR is featured as a technological innovation under the digital technologies category as it is a part of the FAO Digital services portfolio.
The virtual side-event will be titled Water Productivity in Practice from FAO WaPOR Open Data and will focus on the practical implementation of the different dimensions of water productivity. In accordance with the theme of the SIF, the session will demonstrate how technological solutions to agrifood systems issues can become a reality and integrate into the lives and ways of working of different stakeholders at different levels, with a focus on the WaterPIP (Water Productivity in Practice) service centers that use WaPOR data for business solutions to local problems. This session will showcase the case of Ethiopia where WaPOR data has been used to inform water management decisions.
