Learn about responsible investments!

A new mobile E-learning course on the Principles for Responsible Investments in Agriculture and Food Systems and a responsible investment website are now available.

To develop understanding of the Principles for Responsible Investments in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI), FAO created an e-learning course about the principles and launched this new website. The CFS-RAI were endorsed by the Committee on World Food Security in 2014 and provide guidance for different stakeholders to address a range of environmental, social and economic issues such as employment creation, empowering youth and women, food safety and biodiversity for investments.

The course introduces the principles, explains their scope and intended users, and highlight what makes an investment responsible. As the course is mobile-friendly and does not take long. It is ideally suited for use while commuting, queuing at the bank or when you simply have some time to kill.

This course is designed for all stakeholders in investment, including governments, the private sector, civil society, farmer’s organizations and international organizations. We invite everybody to follow the course here. The course is available in English, Spanish and French.

Information about activities of FAO and our partners can be found on this newly launched website ‘Supporting Responsible Investments in Agriculture and Food Systems (RAI)’. The website contains an overview of FAO’s programme to support responsible investments and a section with resources. Frequent news updates are provided on the website about FAO’s activities and responsible investment in agriculture and food systems in general.

The website is currently available in English, with Spanish and French versions planned for 2019.
