FAO tools to stimulate responsible investment in agriculture by youth
Investing in youth and empowering young agri-entrepreneurs to invest responsibly in their farms and businesses are fundamental to achieving many of the Sustainable Development Goals. Youth are the future of food security for all, but many young people see no future for themselves in agriculture because of the many barriers they face.
FAO has developed various capacity analysis and strategic planning tools aimed at stimulating and sustaining investment by young agri-entrepreneurs with support from the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG). These tools and experiences on their application were the themes of the online event: “Catalysing young agri-entrepreneurs' investments and ensuring their sustainability: Tools, interventions and lessons learned” organized by FAO, the Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), and the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH).
