24/10/2024

You are a coach who supports youth in the agricultural sector and is interested in helping them boost the performance of their responsible projects? Or an innovative agri-entrepreneur keen to hone your entrepreneurial skills and develop responsible, bankable business model and plan for your own project?

The new FAO publication “Promoting responsible agribusiness: a guide for business coaches supporting responsible agri-entrepreneurs” is now available on the FAO website: https://doi.org/10.4060/cd2589fr.

This guide provides both theoretical knowledge, and a toolbox needed to effectively support responsible agricultural investments of very small, small and medium-sized enterprises. The tailored methodology and support tools presented to the coaches and agri-entrepreneurs are based on the Principles for responsible investment in agriculture and food systems (CSA-RAI).

The publication also offers an in-depth understanding of the essential role played by coaches in guiding and boosting the performance of young entrepreneurs to ensure that their agricultural investments generate triple performance for the planet, for the people (host communities and consumers) and for profit (return on investment), and secure their position as transformative agents for the sustainable territorial development of their regions.

The methodology adopted was developed, tested and refined through a coaching process involving over 60 agricultural businesses in Tunisia. The process also benefited from the active collaboration of a number of stakeholders from the private sector, coaching professionals, research institutes and agricultural investment promotion agencies.
