SAMIS and CIAT mark progresses in national livelihood mapping
DALaM and CIAT are collaborating to finalize the national livelihood map in Lao PDR. Three workshops have been organized about with participants of the provinces in the north (e.g. Bokeo, Houaphane, Luangnamtha, Oudomxay, Phongsaly, and Xayabouly), middle (e.g. Bolikhamxay, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Vientianne Capital, Vientianne, Xaysomboune, and Xiengkhouang), and south (e.g. Attapue, Champasack, Salavan, and Xekong) of Lao PDR. The methodology of mapping has been prepared by the CIAT - De Risk project. The project is collaborating with SAMIS in various aspects and scientific activities.
After the workshop, DALaM and SAMIS project were responsible to create the maps by querying the resulting database. More than 30 maps have been produced and will be uploaded in the to Land resource information Management System (LRIMS).
