After three years of work, the SAMIS project is happy to introduce the first scientific publication. The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model has been used to downscale the national daily observation data of the last 30 years to 5km resolution.

The works was led by the efforts of the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand with expertize by the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. All national data have been manipulated by national experts Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), and of the Department of Agricultural Land Management (DALaM). The published study, that is a prime at national level, evaluated the performance of an ensemble of physics options in simulating rainfall during wet and dry seasons of Lao PDR.
