SAMIS external review started
The SAMIS project has been under implementation since 2017 by FAO and national counterparts with many impressive results reported. Hired by FAO, we, the three independent consultants are conducting an external review of the project. The team is composed by one team leader; one modelling Expert and myself and one National Consultant.
Given the complexity of the project and the variety of activities, the team will make contact with project partners in Italy, South Korea, Thailand and Philippines, will liaise with different government entities in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Agriculture and Forestry, Labour and Social Welfare, Education and Sport, and Information, Culture and Tourism. In the photo, the meeting includes the Department of Agricultural Land Management (DALAM) and participants responsible for the LRMIS, the soil map, and the AEZ can be seen, joint with the MTR team leader and national consultant.
In addition, the villages and weather stations in three provinces will be visited, including LuangNamtha, Savannakhet and Saravan.
