Automatic agro-meteorology weather stations are getting installed by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology
An international specialist form the company OTT will be visiting the premises of the SAMIS project to support the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in the installation of the sensors of 15 new automatic agro-meteorology weather stations.
From 21th to 25th of October the expert will train 10 staff to be able to install the equipment. The first phase will include the checking of the equipment and the preparation for field installation. Later, the 15 laptops and respective software will be checked. Finally, the configuration of dataloggers and testing of the station system will happen.
From the 28th of October until the 1st of November the training will continue in the field. Three stations sensors will be installed. In NaPhok, in Vientiane Capital, the sensors will be installed by the international expert and the DMH expert will assist him. In the second station, NalongKhoun in Vientiane Province, the sensors will be installed by the DMH experts and the international consulant will only assist and train them, correcting them when necessary. It is expected that the team will be able to install the third station, located in PhouHaoxang in Xaysonboum province, with total authonomy and will only require some support by the international consultant.
