Change of location of the agrometeorological station in Tonphueng, Borkeo Province
The project's activity relates to the installation of 15 automatic stations. The station of Tonphueng has been installed two years ago by the DMH Network Division and has been transmitting regularly to the LaCSA database. On 23rd of February the staff of Houaysai, during their mission to Thonpheung, reported that the station was damaged by unknown people. SAMIS and the Network Division of the Department of Meteorology and Hidrology decided to organize a mission.
The mission decided that the station’ sensors, that are very expensive, should be removed immediately in order to avoid further damages. A mission will be organized by FAO at this scope as soon as the FAO car is available.
A new station should be built at the District Office location immediately. Based on budget availability, SAMIS has the possibility to cover the new AWS and reparation of the office premises. The Tonphueng agreed with the proposal of moving the station.
