The IPCC (2023) report underlined the interdependence of climate, ecosystems, and biodiversity and the close linkages between climate change adaptation, mitigation, ecosystem health, human well-being, and sustainable development.
Recognizing this, countries have included ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) and nature-based solutions (NBS) among the proposed adaptation measures in their National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). In addition, development partners and private sector are working to mainstream and scale up NBS for climate action, however, financial, institutional, and technical challenges remain.
The seventh webinar of the Adaptation Pipeline Accelerator (APA) series aimed to inform participants about various tools, frameworks and finance solutions that can benefit climate change adaptation and nature goals and practical experiences from countries.
This edition was co-organized by BIOFIN and FAO-UNDP SCALA programme.
