FAO provides technical support on the sustainable and circular bioeconomy to guide policymakers in establishing strategies, action plans, and programmes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris agreement and other Multilateral Environmental Agreements.

FAO's approach includes five operational work areas: partnerships, policy dialogue, capacity development, normative and standard-setting instruments, supporting access to data and information and advocacy and communication.
