Sustainable and circular bioeconomy for food systems transformation

Bioeconomy podcast episode out in time for COP 15

News

Episode is part of new FAO series on nexus between climate change, biodiversity and nutrition

Amid a busy autumn schedule including the publication of a new booklet and trips to the EU Bioeconomy Conference, COP 27, and an OECD sustainability forum, FAO’s bioeconomy team recently took time out to discuss the topic of bioeconomy and the nexus of climate change, biodiversity and nutrition for a new FAO podcast series.

The series is a follow-up to the 2021 FAO publication, Climate change, biodiversity and nutrition nexus: emerging policies and programming opportunities, which identified entry points that could simultaneously address all three challenges. Each episode is dedicated to one of these entry points.

The bioeconomy episode comes just in time for the COP 15 biodiversity conference, where FAO will co-host a side event with the Government of Canada on “Achieving Post-2020 targets through Sustainable Bioeconomy in Agrifood Systems” on 16 December.
