Mapping suitability for rice production in inland valley landscapes in Benin and Togo using environmental niche modeling

This study developed an ensemble model approach to characterize the inland valleys suitable for rice rainfed agriculture using machine learning algorithms based on environmental niche modeling. WaPOR actual evapotranspiration, net primary production and gross biomass water productivity were used as parameters in the model predicting suitability.

Drought observe: near-real-time drought monitoring for Africa using FAO WaPOR datasets

The monitoring system uses WaPOR's bio-physical indicators in conjunction with rainfall data to detect drought-induced vegetation stress. Validation and calibration of FAO's WaPOR product (actual evapotranspiration) in Iran using in-situ measurements

This study focuses on the Zayanderoud basin in Iran and aims to calibrate and validate WaPOR evapotranspiration (AETI) data using a scintillometer, an instrument that measures variations in temperature, humidity, and pressure, all parameters that influence evapotranspiration.
