Inception workshop for project launch in Niger

FAO in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture of Niger organized the inception workshop for the project on 27 November 2020.

The objectives of the workshop were to launch and introduce the project to relevant stakeholders in the agricultural sector and to collect valuable background information that will guide the implementation of the project in Niger.

Stakeholders and the various actors involved in the food and nutrition sector in Niger, from the Ministry of Agriculture and universities participated in this workshop. During the workshop, various participants delivered technical presentations on the project, its theory of change and its contribution to national development plans, the government strategies related to food security and nutrition, IFAD-supported projects in Niger and potential entry points for collaboration with FAO, and multiple links between agricultural water use and the production of nutritious food and interactive discussions held.
