World Food Day: Improve your Health with Safe and Nutritious Food

Everyone across our food sector plays an important role in ensuring nutritious food is available – Consumers are more than just eaters; they also have the power to influence what is produced through healthy food choices, which in turn contributes to more sustainable food systems.

This call was voiced by the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) during  World Food Day celebration   in a webinar called “Millenial Generation, Improve your Health with awareness for safe food : Our Actions are our future”.  Around 2000 millenials from all over Indonesia attended the webinar.

Head of the Indonesia Food and Drug Authority shared an important message to the students to choose safe and nutritious food, prioritize local products, and spread the messages to families and communities. "The future of the nation rests on the shoulders of Indonesia's young generation. Spread this spirits to develop the country by encouraging the adoption of a healthy and smart lifestyle to choose safe, quality and nutritious food. Let us unite and rise up,  fight together to create better Indonesia, "she said 

Assistant FAO Representative- Programme for Indonesia, Ageng Herianto, who was also present on this webinar appreciate the BPOM which has been active in the effort to build better food system in Indonesia, especially for the safety food. "Thank you to the Head of the BPOM who is truly at the forefront to guard food safety," he said

In this webinar, BPOM also launched four e-books on food safety, namely five Keys to Process Food Safely, 5 Keys to Choose Safe Food, 128 Food Safety Questions and Answers, and 101 Food Safety Tips.

The webinar is expected to encourage millennials to pay attention to food safety to become food heroes who do real action for the people to choose safe and nutritious food over unhealthy dishes.
