The International Mountain Day celebrated with cinema at MIRC
The Metsovion Interdisciplinary Research Center celebrated the 11th of December, International Mountain Day, with the projection of the film "The Cold of Trabzon/Cold of Kalandar" at its premises in Metsovo. Lot of local people attended, with participation of all ages. The reception of our student’s initiative by the local community was warm and gives us a boost for other ideas.
Slow cinema plot, almost silent, based on a simple script but rich in images and deep emotions. Filmed in the wild nature of the mountains, the film created ideal conditions for continuing the evening in the lounge with a discussion about the living conditions in the mountains and the difficulties their inhabitants face. Our young friends were offered handmade popcorn and the older ones wine. The success of the event leads us to its annual establishment.
