19/11/2021 Mozambique / online

Join the online event on Combatting illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing organised by the National Directorate of Operations of the Ministry of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries of Mozambique, with the support of FAO and CPLP as part of the Second Edition of the Growing Blue Conference.

The event aims to promote the exchange of experiences and identification of needs among the CPLP members for the adoption of a legally binding instrument for the creation of a cooperation network to strengthen their capacities in combatting IUU fishing.

Representatives from Angola, Cabo Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tome and Principe, and Timor Leste will discuss the main challenges in combating IUU fishing and how the CPLP network can contribute to overcome them.

The other Panelists are from FAO and CPLP who will discuss how these organisations can support the setting up of the network.
